2005 – ICSID Interdesign Sustainable Rural Transport

social impact design / transport / sustainability

Interdesign 2005 was endorsed by ICSID (International Council of Societies of Industrial Design), ICOGRADA (International Council of Graphic Design Associations) and the South African Department of Transport. The theme running through the two week workshops was sustainable rural transport. The forum was sponsored and facilitated by the South African Bureau of Standards (SABS) Design Institute, which was approached by the Mpumalanga Government to help create viable solutions to the province’s rural transport requirements. For the full reports from the BicycleTricycle team which I was a part of for the two week workshop please go here.
