“Illustrating human experience through the medium of jewellery.” Jacqueline Rabun
Jacqueline Rabun is an internationally renowned American designer who has run her jewellery design studio out of London since 1990. Her signature is described as “fluid conceptual forms” and a “poetic approach to design.”
Overview:
In 2009 I was employed by Jacqueline Rabun Studio as their only industrial designer to streamline the design, development and production of her jewellery. I was based in the London studio for only a few months but continued to work remotely with her until 2011. My role focused on developing a workflow to convert her existing collection into 3D CAD models and sets of engineering drawings – enabling a more efficient rapid production process from order to production.
I also co-designed with Jacqueline to bring her creative sketches into physical form. Some of the projects I worked on included her collaborations with Georg Jensen, Studio Mama and Halston – all the inflated silver jewellery worn by the models in Halston’s Ready to Wear collection for New York Fashion week 2010 was conceived by Jacqueline, and co-designed by myself and Gareth Norwood from 3D CAD into worn jewellery.
Jacqueline’s full jewellery range and online store can be accessed here.
